Energy drives everything we do today. The shift towards electrification is growing rapidly, but 80% of the world’s primary energy consumption still comes from fossil fuels. We need drop-in renewable fuels that work in our existing infrastructure, today. No new extraction.
Using solar power, Terranova takes excess CO2 from the atmosphere and combines it with Hydrogen from water to create synthetic hydrocarbon fuels for use in industries that cannot be electrified yet: aviation, shipping, and heavy manufacturing to start.
We took on creating an entirely new name, identity, and creative direction for Terranova including designing their flagship fuel producing T-Node module. We sought to bring a humanistic, aspirational, and precise yet approachable aesthetic to the brand and educational storytelling.
At the heart, a brand mark born from Terranova’s first synthesized fuel molecule with the core elemental building blocks forming the silhouette: 4 hydrogen atoms around one central carbon. The name Terranova, or “new Earth”, speaks to shift in our understanding of true balance with all living things.
